Successful Weekend

Well, after a much needed vacation, I drove 14 hours back from Myrtle Beach only to jump into the Fast Freddie's van for another 6 hours of work. It was certainly an exhausting weekend. The lake was extremely busy and I think everyone had a good time. Attendence at the fireworks was down this year because it rained all day, but the show went on as planned anyway. From what I saw, the show was a success, but I was so busy in the van that I couldn't enjoy the fireworks myself. I do know that the smoke from the fireworks (both the professional show and the amatuer shows in backyards) created a dense fog that covered the entire lake for the duration of the night. While I was not able to get any pictures of my own, the Bellefontaine Examiner has an excellent slideshow of the events on their website.

Kevin, I admire your fortitude for working six hours after a 14-hour drive. It's amazing how sitting motionless in the car can wear you out!

I've enjoyed reading all of your posts... it sounds like Indian Lake is a fun place to be!

One thing I'm curious about is whether you've had any odd/amusing/memorable experiences driving people around on the shuttle. I thought I remember you saying your service is somewhat geared toward giving rides to people who have had too much to drink and don't want to drive home. Being sober around inebriated folks is usually a wierd experience... I'm sure you must have some good tales to tell and I'd love to hear them!

I do have many stories about the people I drive around, but for the sake of repeat customers, I try to keep their stories to myself (or at least not post them to a public forum). If there is anything extremely out of the ordinary, I will be sure to post it!

Can't believe you had to drive after driving all day! Hope you enjoyed Myrtle Beach. I visited once and had a great time there. We saw Wayne Newton at the big theatre there.
